I painted ‘Sentinels’ in Launceston at the Converge gathering at Zions Hill Church in November 2018. It depicts two parent trees overseeing multiple saplings with an undergrowth of debris. They represent the intercessors, sentinels, who protect with their canopy of prayers. The sweetness of wild honey drips out of a full hive, speaking of many joining in and producing the substance of delight for all who participate.
Imagine my joy when one man, wondering why I had painted two white trees, showed me afterwards the spot where there prayer centre was to be built — right in front of two majestic white trees!
