A ship—an ancient Christian symbol of the Church—shines with an overwhelming light, brighter than the stars. Individually, we bear it quietly; but when we come together, united in faith, our radiance becomes powerful, transformative, and impossible to extinguish.
Inspired by Isaiah 9:2, “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light,” and Jesus’ words, “You are the light of the world… let your light shine.” (Matthew 5:14)
For those who know and love Jesus, the golden waters speak of the abundance of God’s love: we are surrounded by what He has poured into us, and invited to carry it into the world.
A Great Light reminds us of what has already dawned upon us—and invites us to let that light shine through us, together.
